2010 Trek Madone’s ready for Le Tour

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

Trek have already brought out a couple of their 2010 Road bikes (the 1.2 and 2.3) but haven’t brought out any of the really high end bikes yet. It looks like this is about to change though as we just got this email from Richard at Trek UK.

Morning all,

The cat is out of the bag.

Not sure if any of you know much about cycling, but apparently a big bicycle race starts this weekend in France and there’s some bloke called Armstrong who has demanded that we build him a new race bike.

So, here are the details of the new 6 series Madone

2010 Specialized Mountain Bike Range - Updated

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

We already have some of the 2010 Specialized Hardrocks and Myka’s in stock but haven’t had a massive amount of news about the rest of the 2010 Specialized Mountain Bike Range. Now Singletrack magazine have posted the whole of the 2010 Specialized Mountain Bike press kit online for everyone to see. Although it mainly concentrates on the higher end bikes the press kit does give a good indication of what the new 2010 bikes are going to be like.

You can view the full press kit here

Update

Specialized have now issued their own sneak peak at their 2010 bike range. The main addition is the new Secteur family of bikes starting from £549.99. These are aluminium framed road bikes based on the same principles as the Roubaix Range of last year. That is bikes which are fast enough to race but comfortable enough to spend all day on.

This now means there are two ranges of Specialized road bikes in the £500-£1000 market for 2010 with the Allez being a pure speed machine and the Secteur classed as “endurance road”.

2010 Marin Bikes out next week

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

marin-bikesMorgan from Marin came to see us yesterday to tell us about the new 2010 Marin bikes. Marin normally launch new model bikes in late August/early September but this year they have virtually sold out of bikes already and so have been forced to bring forward their launch.

The first bikes are due to land with Marin UK on 7th July and we should have them a couple of days later. These will be Marin’s City bikes such as the Kentfield and Larkspur. More 2010 City and Hybrid bikes are then scheduled to arrive throughout July before the Mountain bikes start arriving in August and carrying on through September.

We haven’t seen images of many of the finished bikes yet as the photo shoots are still taking place and most of the prices are still “tbc” but there are a few interesting bits to pick out from what we have seen so far. The Alchemist full Suspension bikes which were delayed from 2009 are definitely coming out this year (the first ones are due into the UK on 21st July) with about 5 bikes in the range. The Toscana/Ignacio range of singlespeedy/cyclocross/fixed wheel commuting type bikes is expanding this year with the addition of the Lombard, Inverness and Dominican the last two of which are promised to come with Lime Green and Orange Rims respectively. Another new addition to the 2010 Marin range is two Dirt Jump bikes the San Quentin and the Alcatraz.

Finally after their pretty much complete concentration on Aluminum for 2009 Marin look to have have spread their wings as far as frame materials go for 2010 with the welcome return of a couple of steel bikes to their range and the addition of a couple of carbon hardtails.

We will be posting up images of the bikes and reviews as soon as we have them so keep checking back for more information.

2010 Specialized and Trek Bikes now instock

Friday, June 19th, 2009

get_imageasp21

It has been a bumper year for bike sales and for road and commuting bikes in particular. So much so that we, and all our suppliers, pretty much ran out of road bikes between £500 and £1000 over a month ago.

To sort out this problem some of the major UK bicycle brands have brought forward the launch of parts of their 2010 bike range.

Trek have brought out the 2010 version of their entry level road bike the 1.2 while Specialized have brought in part of their 2010 Allez range alongside 2010 Hardrocks and Mykas. All of these bikes are now in stock at our shops or due within days. The bikes are coming in so early that in some cases we are only getting images, specifications and prices for the bikes as they land with us. We are updating our website on a daily basis so keep checking in for the new bikes.
