Slade School Summer Fete

slade_karl1The guys from our Tonbridge store were at the Slade School Summer Fete over the weekend. Following on from National Bike week and celebrating their new bike racks the school had designated a bike theme for the fete this year. Prizes were given for the “best dressed bike” and a bike and Cycles UK vouchers were given away in the raffle.

As well as donating some prizes and offering free safety checks and advice from our stall Cycles UK Tonbridge helped to organise a display by local trials rider Rob Larkins to entertain the crowds.

Bike it - Cycle to school with Cycles UK

Cycling to school not only helps keep our planet Green, it helps keep us all fit and healthy and with this in mind here at Cycles UK we are offering special discounts and free gifts to schools within reach of a Cycles UK shop. Working in partnership with Bike it who are part of Sustrans, Cycles UK is hoping to get more kids on their bikes.

Bike it works directly with schools who want to increase levels of cycling. They do it by helping schools make the case for cycling in their school travel plans. They aim to create a pro-cycling culture in the school which continues long after the Bike it officer has left.
